Three Reasons to Book an Outdoor Family Portrait In Perth

Studio portraits have a safety element about them.  Everything can be controlled – family in one location, lighting adjusted by the photographer and weather isn’t a factor.  Studio portraits have many benefits but sometimes the best family portrait is one on location.  Craig Stewart Photography can of course cater to either but there are a few benefits to an Outdoor Location Portrait you might like to consider:

  1. Location, Location , Location – just as location is everything in real estate it can also be so for a Family Portrait. A particular location may have special significance to your family.  Maybe you love hiking so lets go to your favourite hiking trails to create your family artwork.  Maybe the beach is your ‘chill place’ so what better spot than to create the relaxed smiles that will be reflected in your family artwork.  A place can hit an emotional spot and it will become an important element in your viewing of the images.
  1. Stunning Light – we are so lucky in Perth to have great weather much of the year. Warm, dabbled light in the winter months or the amazing glow of a sunset on the beach can create an artistic element that can’t be replicated in a studio setting.  Natural lighting can also do wonders to your complexion.
  1. FREEDOM – I don’t mean the kind of a warrior painted in blue charging into battle. Being outdoors sets our minds free and can have an amazing ability to relax us.  A relaxed person is much easier to photograph than someone stressing about whether Billie’s collar is sitting straight.  Outdoor locations allow for a greater flexibility in movement and posing options.  A great tree sump to sit on, waves crashing in the background, beautiful fluffy clouds as a backdrop.  All add elements to a wonderful family portrait.
