Why Parents Need to Complete the Family Picture
Having a professional family photo of all 2, 3 or 4 (or more) children together is wonderful. It is something that they will grow to treasure in years to come and as a parent you can enjoy now. However it always saddens me when parents say they don’t want to be in the photograph as well. A family portrait isn’t complete without Mum or Dad or Step- Parents in it – the very people who have raised and nurtured and loved and laughed with the children throughout their childhood.
I call for all Perth parents to put aside their most common fears – of not ‘looking good in front of a camera’, of ‘needing to lose a few kilos’, of having a ‘silly smile’ – and share in the joy of your family being together for your portrait session and being able to create a wonderful memory of that time. Sometimes family sessions are not for the benefit of the parents but for the children – having you IN the photographs is the most important element there is. Your family isn’t ‘just the 3 kids’, it’s all of you together – that’s your family.

The most fun often comes when we are piling everyone in together for the ‘hero’ shot. The laughter, the jokes, the connections we see in these moments is priceless.
So parents – please don’t leave yourself out of your family photography. It’s not a complete family unless you are in it!!
